MUTS GENERAL MEETING:  FEB. 5, 2009

 

Members present:  B. Blair, D. Gasparro, J. Gregory, T. Littlefield, D. Littlefield, S. Keefe, T. Murphy, R. Regina, B. Walkley, J. Whitney.

 

Call to order:  B. Walkley (Club President) at 8:05 p.m.

 

 

* Review of operating costs & proceeds from the Rollerskating fundraiser by J. Whitney (Treasurer).  Reviewed the need to have financial records of checking accounts updated, along with monthly account information to be provided to each team; he would contact each team/rep to solicit the proper information needed.  

 

* Discussion pertaining to raffle tickets to be sold by each team (Fundraising S. Keefe/R. Regina); agreement decided that each player will be assigned 10 tickets, at $5.00 each.  Keefe & Regina also reviewed plans for the Clarksburg fundraiser to be held on Feb. 28th.  

 

* 1st game of Spring, 2009 MOSA season will be on Sunday March 29.  B. Walkley asked for any requests from coaches who had more than 1 team & needed to have home games scheduled to avoid a possible conflict.

 

* Review of uniform orders to be directed to J. Shaffer (Effingers); orders pending for new teams (Gasparro & Blair).

New U-8 boys, Tornadoes (Gasparro) & U-8 Girls, Rangers (Blair); both teams scheduled to begin this Spring within Jersey Coast.

 

* Mosa rep (J. Gregory) handed out breakdown for MUTS flights; reviewed highlights from flight night.

 

* Discussion of field maintenance; concerns to be directed to C. Cutler (field maint.).  Tentative prep date set for the 1st or 2nd weekend of March.

 

* Further discussion amongst board members of goal keeper training; T. Littlefield to look into rates & possible personnel for instruction; decided that there would be approx. 4 sessions of 1 hr. (on Saturdays), with each team allocated 2 keepers to attend; the groups would be divided btw. U-9 to U-12, and U-13 -U16.

Also looking into a mass order of "Insta-benches" for each team.  Tom Murphy would follow up with price quotes; possibly have the MUTS color & logo printed on bags/benches.

 

* Announcement made that Vin Mancini would be a "ref assignor" upon recently receiving training/supervision for that post.

Also, local resident & soccer mom, Tracy Klehr, was recently appointed to the Rec board commision - congratulations...
