MUTS meeting: March 5, 2009-04-01

Call to order: B. Walkley (Club President) at 8:10 p.m.
Meeting agenda sheets were compiled/distributed by Walkley (President) & J. Gregory (MOSA rep).
2009 Budget was reviewed by J. Whitney (Treasurer). Copies of an itemized list was provided to all members present:
Fundraiser break even form – need to clearly delineate all expenses prior to initiating plans or making any payments; upfront costs need to be reviewed by board prior to any action & payment(s) made..
Spring fees – teams instructed to bring checkbooks; reiterated again the need to have all teams paid in full prior to the start of the Spring season…
Goalkeeper training from Liverpool: Professional keeper(s) would provide training sessions here at Millstone @ Brandywine; tentative dates would be on 7/5 & 7/7, approx. 6 hrs. each day @ a cost of $199. Training would be open to anyone, not just Millstone players; inquiry to be made for any reduction in rates for Millstone players, along with priority in booking.
Keeper training to be provided by Rodrigo; each team would pick 2 keepers to attend training on Saturdays; dates would be 3/21, 3/28, 4/18, 4/25; times to be announced with groups divided by age groups.
Club policy: MUTS funds to allocate $25 for each team to have a home based friendly match, on the weekend of 3/14 & 3/15; would provide an opportunity for newly certified refs to hone their skills, as well as foster team development by encouraging scrimmages…
Review status of 50/50 raffle; discussion of team level incentive program(s). Rewards to top selling players/teams… Reviewed 10 tkts. @ $5 each for each player on team.
MUTS day: N.J. Wildcats, possibly set up day for the girl’s team.
Spring 09 tryouts: need to set a weekend; no outside trainers will be involved; date to be tabled for April meeting.
Other fundraising initiatives; to be further discussed when fundraising personnel (Regina, R. & Keefe S.) are present…
Field prep day: (C. Cutler, field maint.) designate Sat., 3/14 for field set up; Jen-Lo are involved with marking/painting lines – volunteers needed for netting on goals, etc. Each team responsible to have at least 2 people from that team (parent, coach, etc…)
Discussion of web site(s) and related costs; reviewed what we have now with minimum cost, as opposed to more comprehensive sites that would require more funding. (T. Littlefield)
The Rangers (Blair), a newly forming U-8 girls team will not be playing this Spring in Jersey Coast due to a low roster; may attempt again for the Fall of 09.
Speed/Agility training to be provided by Mr. Adrian Francke on Saturday mornings @ Brandywine; $50 for a 10 session program lasting approx. 1 hr. each week. MUTS liaison (Cutler).
MUTS Board legacy matters/Use of club proceeds:
Club signage @corner of Stillhouse/Sweetmans lane; involvement of boy scouts with pymt. Of supplies by Rec dept.
Storage shed: suggestion made to have a back door installed & shed to be portioned for rec/travel..

Club sponsorship of 3v3 tournament: discussion of having approx. 4 teams for each age group, with roughly 6 games within a shortened season; possibly during the summer…
