MUTS meeting: Thursday, April 16, 2009
Members present: Blair, B., Gregory, J., Littlefield, T., Keefe, S., Murphy, T., Regina, R., Shaffer, J., Stephan, N. & Whitney, J.
Call to order: 8 p.m., N. Stephan (Club Vice president).
* Reviewed upcoming try-outs to be held @ Brandywine fields; dates were set for 5/9 & 5//16 from 2-3:30p.m. Reviewed advertising and various means of disseminating information: updating MUTS web site, flyers at local schools (including Roosevelt), Channel 77, Asbury Park Press, the Examiner, etc.
Discussion amongst coaches in regards to how to run the try-outs. Club team coaches would be responsible for their respective age groups & run drills involving skills & scrimmages involving game like situations. Each team would provide a team roster, with additional room for players trying out for that respective age group/team...
* J. Whitney (Treasurer) reviewed checks due & outstanding balances from various teams...Inquiry made if all teams were receiving scanned copies of their monthly bank statements. Also, if all teams received club reimbursement for any pre-season scrimmages that were played...
* Open issues discussed by the board:
- New team comittments (birthdate, frequently asked questions, expectations & what to expect for players entering a travel team,etc...) J. Whitney would provide a list of these FAQ that coaches could provide to inquiring parents...
- Flags set up & removed after your game (T. Littlefield will indicate in her weekly field assignments which teams will be last on that respective field).
- Condition of fields.
- Bathrms are now left open.
* B. Walkley (Club president - absent for meeting) had previously requested that the club consider purchasing a Soccer book for all of it's players/parents; the book contains information that would help clarify & answer questions pertaining to the rules/regulations of the game. No copy present at the meeting for board members to view, will table for next meeting for a decision.
* J. Whitney handed out copies of the M.U.T.S. by-laws for all board members to review.
