MUTS meeting minutes:  Thursday, May 7 2009.
Members present:    B. Blair, D. Gasparro, S. Keefe, T. Murphy, J. Shaffer,
B. Walkley, & J. Whitney.

Call to order:  President B. Walkley @ 8:15p.m.

*Tryouts:  Reviewed upcoming try-outs; need for coaches to arrive at 1 p.m. to help with set up.   All coaches should have an updated team roster with name, e-mail, D.O.B. & contact #'s; additional lines /space should be available for any interested players for your respective age groups/team(s)... Discussed how many teams are in need of players? 
Reviewed placement of try-out signs & effective means of advertising: Examiner, School notices, Asbury Park press/Star Ledger, as well as internet (www.nj.com/forum).   B. Walkley to purchase stickers for players to be numbered, B. Blair volunteered to p/u beverages to sell, with proceeds to go to MUTS...J. Whitney to bring candy bars that were left from Rollerskating fundraiser, T. Murphy to bring extra ice, etc.. 

* Field prep: fertilization (question in regards to how long players should stay off of fields?); question(s) can be forwarded to field coordinator (C. Cutler).

* Returning teams in Fall, 09:  how many teams will be playing?
Discussed new teams that will be forming?

* Review of Finances by J. Whitney (Treasurer): The need to have copies of all team rosters & players to cross reference for membership fees/dues paid.  Announced that 1 team had fees outstanding (Eagles) at this time, for the Spring ,09 season.  Discussed 50/50 rafffle to help generate funds for MUTS.

* Discussed having more parents involved with running MUTS; drafting volunteers for delegate positions due to upcoming elections & departing members & positions vacated...

* Reviewed 3v.3 summer league; invitational only continigent upon gender/age groups.  This could lead to potential tournaments to generate funding for our club.

*  Dog signs: the need to have signs visibly placed so MUTS members & visitors are aware of club policy; important for all of us to enforce due sanitary, safety, & liability issues.
 
*  "Pass/Back" program:  Discussed teams being involved with donating cleats & other soccer paraphernalia to kids & soccer programs in need.

*  Reviewed ordering 6 person insta-benches for all teams that want one; $ have varied from $99 (Amazon.com) to $60 at a local soccer outlet (Goalpost)..
