M.U.T.S. meeting: Thursday, October
1, 2009
Members present: D. Gasparo, T. Littlefield, R. Regina, N. Stephan, B. Walkley, J. Whitney; (late
arrivals: T. Murphy, B. Blair, S. Keefe, D. Littlefield). Team reps: B. Kokot, Robinson,
N.
Call to order: B. Walkley
(President) @ 8:05p.m.
- Review
of fiscals by Jim Whitney (Treasurer); handouts dispersed with itemized
expenses noted & discussed in detail; discussed N.J. tax exempt
status; reviewed outstanding dues from any teams.
- Fundraising: Rocco Regina (Fundraising asst.) proposed
having a master list distribution to reach all parents, so that there can
be an adequate pool of volunteers for various events… Congratulations & appreciation to
Sharon Keefe & Rocco Regina for their successful efforts with the mums
sale(s), as well as N. Robinson for arranging the low $ & supply of
the plants.
- Review
of gym rentals for off season training; weekday training was significantly
less expensive, rather than weekend training; there is a possibility that
the times/days are subject to change..
- Jen –
Lo weekly lining of fields: discussed ongoing cost & consideration of
an alternate company, open bidding, or parent volunteers; consensus was
that the services were adequate @ present price… Concern was noted that field # 7 had to
be relined prior to Saturday travel games…
- Nets:
one state cup game had to be delayed due to netting not being properly
secured; discussed obtaining stronger ties to secure netting with C.
Cutler (field maint. liaison).
- Reviewed
possibility of purchasing newer line marking machines; cost to be picked
up by the Rec dept?
- Portable
lights: set up of 2-3 lights for night practice only; Sharon Keefe
volunteered to appear @ Monday night Rec. board meeting to propose
request…
- Fundraising
agenda: sale of azaleas/daisies in the spring around Mothers day; Rollerskating @ some point in the winter (again on
Super Bowl Sunday?)
- Upcoming
elections in June, 2010. The need
for someone to step up for MOSA rep & Club president. Reiterated the need to have all teams represented
by either coaches/parents; no representation tonight from the following
teams: Reign/Storm/Strykers/Avalanche/Mustangs…
